RC1 Racing was founded by Michael Strachan, a BA (Hons) Leisure Management graduate, lifelong F1 fan, and avid Lewis Hamilton supporter.

THE SPARK

Michael’s passion for motorsport started in childhood, glued to the screen watching Formula 1. But the defining moment wasn't a Grand Prix—it was a clip on Blue Peter.

He watched a young Lewis Hamilton racing Radio Controlled cars with incredible skill. It was a moment that left a lasting impression, but it also revealed a stark reality: Access.

THE BARRIER

Racing—even at the RC scale—was expensive. The equipment, the maintenance, and the technical knowledge required made it feel out of reach for most families. The excitement was there, but the "entry fee" was too high.

For years, a question stayed with Michael:

"How many kids are just like me—excited about racing, but unable to access it?"

THE VISION

That question became the foundation of RC1 Racing.

Combining his professional background in Leisure Management with his passion for the sport, Michael built RC1 to dismantle those barriers.

We removed the cost: You don't need to buy a car.

We removed the risk: You don't need to fix it if it breaks.

We opened the door: We created a safe, affordable, and inclusive space where anyone—regardless of background or ability—can discover their potential.

RC1 is more than just a track. It is the starting grid for the next generation of drivers, engineers and enthusiasts and we’re just getting started — and the future is full of excitement, growth and opportunity.
